Bill I explained it to you,
You have to be a registered member to gain full access,
this is standard practice for most forum software.

I cannot alter the software settings that are controlled by the programmer, I can only turn certain functions on and off,
IE: to allow the public to be able to read the threads but not post
this has the side effect of external links not working
I have no control over what external links work or not
hence to force you to join as a full member, dont blame me I didnt write the software.

The forum has been members only for a long time now, from time to time when something good is going on, I allow the public to read the threads.

I have now made it members only again.
Then this posting was changed as below -

Bruce, Only a month ago this forum was accessible by anyone including the general public.

After changing your above post by deleting the following -

quote:

You then go on to say previously on page 12 - 1 /11/ 2010 this -

quote:

At the moment I have set access so the posts can be read by the public, usually its set to fully registered members only.

So by your own words it is possible to include the public but that you now decide members only.
When this forum thread was started it was in the spirit of an open debate, yet now all has changed and like many others would not have wasted their time to have input locked up for a few to read.

The other day I was speaking to Jeremy Smith of Heritage Victoria who told me he had been following the debate on this forum, so now people of authority won't be able to read what's going un unless they join your closed forum which they may not want to do.

This forum is now a closed shop, a private exclusive club discriminating against public access.

Chit chat amongst forum members is one thing but a forum debate to get history right is important for the whole community.

Bruce, I suggest you restore full public access. Why would they want to join if they can't see what's behind closed doors?

Bill

Thanks for your input bill
Bill you dont seem to understand
The forum has been members only for a long time now,
and if you really want to force me to say why,
if you cannot figure it out.

Its since Dave and sharon did all their damage.
AND your threat of legal action,
I was just about sick when i saw that you had written that.

If people enter the forum the correct way through the menu on the home page and dont back door the system , then they get this message

HOW TO JOIN THE NED KELLY FORUM

To read or post in the Forum you need to a registered member.

I cannot make it any plainer, they are told fairly and squarely

Bill said "When this forum thread was started it was in the spirit of an open debate"

Yes amongst members

Bill said "So by your own words it is possible to include the public but that you now decide members only."

I explained that to you twice.
Up to a few days ago it was open to the public,
and Google.

From time to time,
I allow the public to read the threads,
to let them see what they are missing,
then i set it back to members only.
The forum would probably be more open to the public
than its closed.

If they want to join thats fine,
if they dont want to join then thats fine.
All they have to do is check back
and wait for an open time.

I dont force anybody to use this forum,
I dont force anybody to remain a member here,
I never have,
just like Robert left us a couple of weeks back,
I did not even ask him to stay.

We have had three new members over last couple of weeks,
but two have not logged on, just setting up the third now,
in the 15 minutes I had the forum fully open
last week , a goddamn spammer joined up
till I deleted them.

People come and go here the same on any forum
as I said I am a member of many forums
which i had to join to see what was behind closed doors
some I remained a member of,
some i never went back to because the content was rubbish,
did I email the forum owners and tell
them their members only closed forum policy was unfair ? well NO.

When I first offered the use of the forum to anybody
who cared to use it, about 10 years ago,
it was always meant to be a chit chat forum,
not a global repository, and is
still a chit chat forum.

Any body who has read one word or posted one word have done so
with their own free will.

Also the other point is the internet is a very fragile beast everything thats posted here could disappear in a flash
and be gone forever, just like the former forum, which
has gone forever.

Bill said "and like many others would not have wasted their time to have input locked up for a few to read. "

Bill If you are wasting your time and dont want to stay a member here thanks for your input over the years.

As a reasonably new Forum member; I find the sometimes spirited debate and varied views expressed by the participants most helpful in my quest for all the facts to do with the Kellys. We are all entitled to our views. There's little doubt that we've all changed our opinions on various things "Kelly" over the years, and no doubt we will continue. Bill Denheld has strong opinions, has done valuable research over the years and is more vocal than most, but that does not of itself make him right. I've not met Bill, but I have the distinct impression after reading his views;that his feet are firmly embedded in concrete, and he will not be moved from his preferred Stringybark Creek scenario, or reasonably entertain the possibility of being wrong.
Bill, I feel by your chronic argumentativeness:you are in danger of losing more disciples of your dogma than the number of new disciples you might otherwise attract.
This forum is for all those who wish to participate, and it's pretty simple. Follow the basic rule and become a member... Or don't.... It's up to you... No one's out to get you...(although the thought did just cross my mind)...
I do believe there's a certain amount of paranoia there Bill.
Sign up ... or sign off...
cheers,
duncs

Hello all,

Just to let you know that all the URLs ( Uniform Resource Locator) on this forum, Page 1, posted 16/11/2009 by myself, have been changed. The forum administrator has not made members aware of the www. URL changes, hence previous links had failed to work but I have now changed these to function.

END OF COPY ~ Stringybark Creek News and Views ~

Note that as of Jan 2011 this 13 page debate, its original location, http://kellycountry2000.forumco.com/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=805&whichpage=1
has had 56 postings deleted by the administrator - making the original thread a complete travesty and un readable.

This 13 page copy document is the only reliable source for this debate.

Proponent debaters seem to be going round in circles, for example, the above image was first posted on page 3 by Glenn Standing on 6/07/2019.
Glenn's proposition was answered by me on Page 3 on 11/07/2010 with this image below - http://ironicon.com.au/twohuts/images/twoviews.jpg

It is not intended this document (copy only) to continue adding postings unless they positively add to the debate. Bill Denheld

Bill left us,
After not asking anybody's permission, he stole a number of threads from this website and plagiarized them on his website.

And refuses to remove them.

Which contravenes the The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)
as this site is hosted on a USA server.

I will be issuing a DMCA removal notice to the offending site-owner, and to the ISP that is hosting the offending site.

And I have removed my website, Kellycountry2000.com because of his actions.

He tells us that he was wasting his time here and anybody who is a forum member is a mongrel.

Plagiarism is defined in dictionaries as "the wrongful appropriation, close imitation, or purloining and publication, of another author's language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions.

This requires me to set the record straight -

Regarding the above posting by Bruce the administrator KC2000 17 / 01 / 2011,

In order for truth and balance we seek correction to this last posting, as we are not able to do so since Bruce ( KC2000 ) removed our membership just after 10 November 2010 - without my request for that to be done.

The administrator had decided to delete our membership. ( Carla's membership and mine for the second time )

Bruce says (Quote) " Bill left us"
Answer, Bill and Carla were deleted from the KC2000 membership as punishment for retaining a true copy of all pages of 'SBC News and Views' and making them available at ironicon.com.au for all to read. My action was taken after Bruce was asked by me to allow all external web links used in this debate to be fully functional to all readers and not only members of the forum. Without those external pictures and web links the administrator was rendering the whole forum debate useless and a waste of everybody's time.

Bruce says (Quote) " he ( Bill ) stole a number of threads -- -- -- and plagiarized them .
Answer, The SBC News and Views started out as an open public debate that is now locked up for registered members only.
Plagiarism is when a person passes off a written text to have come from his / her hand.

Showing a true copy of ' SBC News and Views' is not against any law or is plagiarism, infact I know Google will have a copy of this original thread somewhere for all to read as well. What has been written in the public domain remains in the public domain.

Bruce says (Quote) " He ( Bill) tells us that he was wasting his time here and anybody who is a forum member is a mongrel.
Answer, What I said of this forum and particularly this SBC thread was to be able to have postings pulled, then this debate is a total waste of time. It was Kelvyn Gill pretending to be McIntyre on another thread MC2384 that referred to 'Mongrel Club' I have never used the mongrel word.

In the past Bruce the administrator had informed all forum members to backup threads to avoid losing them like what has happened previously, - - and I have done just that and I have offered Bruce the administrator copies of more than 40 lost threads of the past that were vandalized by disgruntled forum members. Bruce never responded to my offer for copies on disc.

My action to make available true read only copies of the hundreds if not thousands of hours of your postings ,should not be seen as wrongful as suggested by Bruce, rather these backup copies are a valued resource to any serious student of the Kelly story AND quite unlike the sloppy administration of this forum KC2000, that allows deletions and thereby diminishes the content postings of others to suit a particular debate outcome. To date Bruce the administrator has removed more than 59 important postings on the original thread 'SBC News and Views' since Nov 2010 making this debate a travesty.
Unless the original SBC thread is restored and available to the public in its original form, a true copy will remain active here at www.ironicon.com.au

Bill and Carla Denheld
